Fundamentals of Presentation Technology

This year at CinemaCon 2023, ICTA partnered with the Cinema Foundation to present its first-ever Educational Session.  The inaugural seminar featured the topic, “The Fundamentals of Presentation Technology”, a two-hour crash course especially for theatre executives, owners, operators and managers.  The seminar was presented twice on Monday, April 24, and both sessions were well attended.  Subject matter included “Cinema Audio Technology” presented by Mark Mayfield, Q-SYS, “Cinema Projection and Media Technology”, presented by Reiner Doetzkies, Sharp/NEC, and “Networks, TMS, and Maintenance”, presented by Chase Taylor, Sound Vision Technical.

“Education and training are among the top priorities for the mission of ICTA, and we’re taking a step forward this year at CinemaCon by offering a session specifically designed for CinemaCon delegates,” says Frank Tees, president of ICTA. “We’ve designed a course that provides an overview for non-technical members of the exhibition community to become acquainted with basic concepts and terminology, so that they can more easily converse with their technology providers and make well informed decisions on technology for their cinemas.”
