Call for Presentations & Technical Papers – Submission Guidelines for the 2025 Los Angeles Seminar Series

We are pleased to announce the call for technical papers and presentations for the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) Los Angeles Seminar Series, scheduled for January 13-15, 2025 at the Hilton Los Angeles. This prestigious event brings together industry leaders, innovators, and experts in cinema technology to explore emerging trends, advancements, new technologies, and best practices shaping the future of cinema exhibition.

We invite professionals, researchers, academics to submit original technical papers and presentation proposals on topics including but not limited to:

  1. Projection and Display Technologies
    1. Laser projection advancements
    2. HDR and immersive audiovisual experiences
    3. LED screens and next-generation displays
  2. Sound Systems and Acoustics
    1. Spatial audio technologies
    2. Sound reproduction enhancements
    3. Acoustic design for cinemas
  3. Cinema Automation and Management Systems
    1. AI and machine learning applications
    2. Digital cinema distribution
    3. Theater management software innovations
  4. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in Cinemas
    1. VR/AR content creation and distribution
    2. Immersive storytelling techniques
    3. Integration with cinema environments
  5. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency
    1. Green technologies in cinemas
    2. Sustainable practices in cinema operations
    3. Energy-efficient equipment and design
  6. Emerging Technologies and Innovations
    1. 5G and connectivity solutions
    2. Blockchain applications in cinema
    3. Internet of Things (IoT)

All presentations must be unbiased, and not a sales pitch. Sessions are not to be used as a place for direct promotion of a presenter’s product, service, or monetary self-interest. Sales pitches disguised as presentations will not be considered. White paper technical presentations on proprietary or emerging technology will be accepted with expectations that the presenter will avoid promoting one technology over another.

Presentation Proposal (a synopsis of your presentation) Deadline: October 2, 2024

Notification of Acceptance: November 4, 2024

Final Presentation Submission: December 16, 2025

Sessions are not accepted with more than two (2) presenters from the same company.All presenters must accept the terms of the ICTA Los Angeles Seminar Series Speaker Agreement including but not limited to:

  • Presentations are 16:9 format.
  • Presentations will not be accepted after the Final Submission deadline.
  • Use the provided PC computer within the room, whenever possible.
  • Avoid unusual or custom fonts.
  • Presentations are between 30 to 60 minutes in length including audience Q&A.

Sessions may be recorded for later publication. If you prefer not to be recorded, please inform the programming Committee in advance. 

Presenters and panel moderators are responsible for adhering to deadlines.  Panel moderators will be responsible for contacting and confirming participation of their panelists prior to the deadline.  Also, panel moderators are responsible for collecting their panelists bios and headshots, and any AV material (such as video clips, sound files, etc.), and submitting them prior to Final Presentation Submission deadline.
