Partnership Renewals
Our collaboration with CinemaCon has opened incredible opportunities for industry visibility, networking, and innovation. As a member, you’ll continue to have access to benefits tied to this exciting partnership. As a CinemaCon partner, we will continue to promote the sale of trade show booths on our referral, please pass those along to us and assist in our joint efforts to promote a successful event.
We have also committed to continue our partnership with the Cinema Foundation and appreciate their active collaboration in promoting educational opportunities through the LA Seminar Series. Other strategic partnerships include CineTRAIN, an excellent resource for our online learning objectives, and Theatre Toolkit to provide a mobile application for LASS’25.
Updated Membership Bylaws
Our recently updated bylaws reinforce our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and strategic growth. The Board of Directors have approved several minor revisions to the association’s bylaws, the full document can be found HERE for your review. By receipt of this email, you consent to adopting these revisions. Updates include allowing electronic communications, web meetings, and online voting. There’s been added verbiage to allow studios to join as members and the titles of the executive team have been revised to be more appropriate for our organization; President becomes Chairman, Vice-president becomes Vice-Chairman, and the Executive Director becomes President of the organization.
Educational Opportunities
CineTRAIN Launch – We are thrilled to announce *CineTRAIN*, our first online educational course, designed to enhance professional development and industry knowledge. The in-person Fundamentals of Presentation Technology course presented at industry events has now been created as an online interactive training. We’re very excited to offer this standardized entry level ICTA certification to a wider audience through our partnership with CineTRAIN.
ICTA Cinema Systems Summit – An all-day Monday training at CinemaCon 2025 is being planned in partnership with ISDCF. Please look for updates and program details and remember to plan travel dates accordingly as this begins first thing Monday morning.
Cinema Technology Mentoring Pilot Programme – Our European team, consisting of Jan Runge, Oliver Pasch, Cathy Huis in t’Veld Esser and Till Cussmann, have this year launched a one-on-one mentoring scheme which entails five senior cinema technology leaders coaching younger talent that are interested in furthering their career in our industry. The programme is off to a great start and we are planning to launch a similar initiative in the US in 2025.
Financial Management
From a financial standpoint, we’ve revised the budget to continue to best support our goals. To encourage the acceptance of charitable donations, we’ve laid the groundwork for securing 501(c)(3) status; this will help fund new initiatives and outreach efforts. We appreciate the outpouring of support in sponsorships so far for LASS’25! We are currently rethinking our strategy for the summer annual conventions and will keep members informed as plans for future years are shaped. Our secured commitments with industry partnerships continue to provide resources used to support our educational programs and goals of the organization.
Membership Update
We are excited to share that our membership has been growing rapidly, and we are thrilled to welcome a dozen new member companies over the past few months. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome and follow us on our LinkedIn page to see them posted.. In addition, we’ve welcomed several new sustaining members who continue to strengthen our community. We’re grateful for their support and commitment to our mission. We’re also pleased to announce a revision to our Associate Membership category. Exhibitors operating 100 screens or fewer are now eligible to join us as members. This change reflects our dedication to expanding our reach and fostering collaboration across all levels of exhibition. We look forward to the continued growth of our member base, with each new operator bringing unique expertise and energy to our mission. Together, we are building a stronger, more dynamic organization.
