About

Extract Design / Gieraltowski Architects is an international architecture and interior design studio specializing in cinema, entertainment, hospitality, retail, and commercial interiors. Since 2004, the studio has delivered projects across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Africa, with a particularly strong focus on cinema design and the evolution of the modern moviegoing experience. Our team has designed more than 100 cinemas for leading international and regional operators, including projects for Regal, Helios, Cineworld, Cinema City, Vue, and others. We combine creative concept design with a deep understanding of cinema operations, technology, CAPEX awareness, audience behavior, and revenue generation. Our goal is to create cinemas that are not only visually memorable, but also commercially effective and operationally practical. Extract Design believes that cinema architecture plays a crucial role in strengthening the value of theatrical exhibition. We design spaces that help cinemas become destinations: immersive, social, premium, and emotionally engaging. Recent projects such as Helios Gdynia, winner of the ICTA EMEA Award for Best Cinema Refurbishment 2025–2026, reflect our approach to combining design, technology, showmanship, and business value. As an ICTA Active Member, we would like to contribute our international design experience, support the exchange of knowledge within the cinema technology and exhibition community, and participate in shaping the future of the cinema experience.
