ICTA Names New Officers at its Annual Convention in Nashville

ICTA Names New Officers at its Annual Convention in Nashville

NEW YORK, NY: The International Cinema Technology Association just concluded it’s Annual Convention at The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Frank Tees, Vice President of Technical Sales Support of Moving Image Technologies was elected President of the Association. The ICTA is a trade organization that represents companies dedicated to cinema technology including cinema equipment, manufacturers, dealers and service operators from around the world.

Alan Roe, President of JACRO and former ICTA President, congratulated Mr. Tees on assuming this new role in the organization and said, “Frank is smart, professional and passionate about the motion picture industry and will lead the group with great distinction.”

Frank Tees is a 30+ year veteran of the cinema industry and Vice President of Technical Sales Support and partner at Moving Image Technologies.  He is an experienced cinema technologist, versed in most aspects of cinema exhibition, technical management and operations.  He specializes in developing unique technology solutions to commercial cinemas to support innovation of the movie-going experience.

Also named to the executive ranks of the ICTA are:

Vice President — Mark Mayfield,
Director, Global Cinema Marketing, QSC

Treasurer — Doug Sabin,
Vice President & COO, American Cinema equipment

Secretary — Beth Figge,
Senior Sales Manager, North America, Dolby Laboratories, Inc.

Three major awards were presented at the Annual Convention. The Teddy and Rodney Awards were presented to the top manufacturer and dealer within the ICTA that delivered professional and quality services to its customers. The Teddy Award was presented to GDC Technology and the Rodney Award went to Sonic Equipment Co.

Additionally, the group awarded the Allen Award, named for industry icon Ioan Allen, to Mark Mayfield of QSC. The Allen Award is presented annually to a member who has delivered exceptional service and dedication to the organization.

The officers and board will next meet in Las Vegas at CinemaCon where many of its members will participate in the largest trade show for motion picture theatrical equipment in the world and be part of the programming. The ICTA session at CinemaCon, “Lessons Learned and The Way Forward in the Wake of the Pandemic” is slated to take place Thursday, August 26 in Caesars Palace’ Palace Ballroom III.
